North Park Playwright Festival Stages 28 New Plays
In support of its goal to produce new, untested plays, The North Park Vaudeville and Candy Shoppe presents the North Park Playwright Festival. Now in its sixth year, the 2009 festival runs for four weekends starting Oct. 2.
The Festival provides a platform for brand new, short (ten minute) plays written by playwrights from around the world. Over the past six years, more than 128 new plays have been produced. Through the North Park Playwright Festival, more than 90 playwrights, directors, and actors each year are able to showcase their talents.
This year’s Festival features 28 new plays, 24 directors and more than 40 actors. Seven new plays are presented each weekend.
