San Diego Showcase for RAW: Natural Born Artists this Thursday at the Ivy Nightclub

Art, Music, Fashion, Photography and Performing Art converge at the RAW: Natural Born Artists San Diego Showcase this Thursday.  RAW is an independent arts organization with the mission of providing up-and-coming artists resources and exposure to share their creativity with the world.

Get inspired by local artists and see what kind of young, hidden talent San Diego has to offer. Wondering what kind of art will be featured at this event?

Let’s hear from the artists themselves.

“I love having the ability to create art in different mediums and even combining them. Currently, I am working on a series which deals with Revolution, Independence, Propaganda and Patriotism (tentatively called R.I.P.P.)” says artist Scott McAlpine Sampaio about his featured works. “The reality is that one of the beautiful things about art is that it can bridge the gaps between mediums with minimal effort.”

Other artists include Janeane Povilaitis, Dave Fass, Adrian Collins, Photographer Tim Eisenhauer, Performing Artist Chase Brockett and Fashion Designer Kaemaloche among many others.  Be prepared to be entertained by cool, calm and collected musical guest, Of Sons and Ghosts.

“My aesthetic is greatly influenced by my surroundings and I like to balance juxtaposing sides of my personality into my clothing. Sexy and sweet. Revealing and demure. Hard and soft,” says fashion designer Annette Cerdas of her showcase this Thursday.

“I love to experiment with fabric choice; my most recent attempt at experimentation was with recycled bicycle parts such as tubes, cogs and spokes. The biggest inspiration comes from organic shapes and colors; the brighter, the more opposed, the better.”

RAW San Diego will be held at the beautiful Ivy Nightclub at Andaz Hotel in Downtown on F Street between 6^th and 7^th.  This 21+ cocktail attire event begins at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 31.  Get tickets online.
