RAW: San Diego Presents “Unearthed” This Thursday at Ivy Nightclub

RAW: San Diego presents “Unearthed”, where natural born artists will showcase their local talent through a variety of mediums this Thursday at the Ivy Nightclub.  This includes (but is never limited to) visual art, fashion, photography, film, music and spoken word performance, all driven by a distinctly creative nature.  Featuring only up-and-coming artists, RAW provides exposure to emerging talent in the San Diego area.

RAW: Unearthed takes place this Thursday in Downtown, hosted by Sacita Duffy with DJ Carlo Arvizu.  It is showing artists who are continually excavating—seeking new ways to construct, generate and form art to their inspired natures.

Quebrada is a graffiti artist who has been experimenting with pasting, using LCD lights with an art piece.  Quebrada desires new experiences that will keep art innovative insisting, “I am not here for fame. I’m just an artist looking to learn and teach others.”

Ashley Gallagher, or Ash, is a photographer who focuses on real-world aspects behind the photos.  She describes herself as “a bit of a beatnik and always a journalist” who sees the world with a raw and real perspective.  To her, photography is a tool that enables  what she calls “guerrilla journalism: everything has a story, everyone has a story, and I have the avenue to help them broadcast it and advance their cause.”

Beyond the printed form, Shay McCulloch will display Moonlit Jewelry featuring intricate necklaces and charming rings that evoke “the beauty of a goddess.”

Live music will enhance the RAW experience, featuring musician Dave Booda, who describes himself as a “Neo-soul singer, avid writer and speaker, in love with everyone.”

These are only a few of the talented artists to be showcased at RAW Unearthed. Expect to see art by Karla Magana, LRE, Carrie Ann Hudson, Seth Shelman “psykey”, Sean Dietrich, Jack Stricker and many, many more.

With 22 artists total from several different genres and mediums, RAW Unearthed will be a sense-ual overload.

RAW takes place this Thursday, April 28 @ 8:00PM at the Ivy Nightclub @ Andaz San Diego | 600 F Street | San Diego, CA 92101. It is a 21+ event requesting cocktail attire. Tickets are available for $10 via presale and at the door.
