Phil Spector will not be available to produce your album for the next 19 to Life
This afternoon in a Los Angeles courtroom, Phil Spector, 69, was sentenced 19 years to life in prison for his 2nd-degree murder conviction in the 2003 shooting of actress Lana Clarkson. The decision comes after nearly six years of legal wrangling and a six-month trial, which ended in a guilty verdict last month. The legendary music producer is responsible for works with artists such as The Beatles (Let It Be), The Righteous Brothers (“Unchained Melody”), Leonard Cohen (Death of a Ladies’ Man), Ike and Tina Turner (“River Deep – Mountain High”), and the Ramones (“Rock N Roll High School”).
Spector’s lawyers are expected to appeal the conviction.
