LeAnn Rimes Marries Eddie Cibrian
“Good Friday” was definitely good for country singer LeAnn Rimes as she walked up the aisle during her wedding ceremony to CSI: Miami actor Eddie Cibrian.
Rimes, 28, is well known for her music albums: Blue (1996), Unchained Melody: The Early Years (1997), You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs (1997), Sittin’ on Top of the World (1998), LeAnn Rimes (1999) I Need You (2001), Twisted Angel (2002), What a Wonderful World (2004), This Woman (2005), Whatever We Wanna (2006), Family (2007) and Lady and Gentlemen (2011). She also sold her compilation albums, God Bless America (2001), Greatest Hits (2003), The Best of LeAnn Rimes (2004).
She first got into the spotlight at the age of 13 and became the youngest country music star since 1972. In 1996 she was placed in the Number 1 spot on the Top Country Albums chart.
According to the official LeAnn Rimes site, she has “sold more than 37 million albums, won two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Music Awards, and 12 Billboard Music Awards.”
She is not only the youngest person to receive a Grammy Award, but she is also a well-known actress and author. She has written Jag and Jag’s Friend (children’s books), and also wrote a novel, Holiday in Your Heart. She married back-up dancer Dean Sheremet; they were together for eight years when she met Cibrian on the set of Northern Lights, a Liftetime Network movie.
Cibrian was also married when he met Rimes on the set. He is known for a variety of television roles such as Baywatch Nights (1996-1997), Sunset Beach (1997-1999), Third Watch (1999-2005), Tilt (2005), Invasion (2005-2006), Vanished (2006), Ugly Betty (2008), Northern Lights TV Network movie (2009), and CSI: Miami (2009).
Like Rimes he also had a singing career with his acting career, but it did not last long. From 1998 -2001 with his best friend and fellow co-star from The Young and The Restless, Joshua Morrow, and CJ Huyer, a Canadian singer, he was involved in the band 3Deep. 3Deep is a soul-pop boy band was known for albums Yes yes yes…no no no (1999) and Can’t Get Over You (2001), and although they were unsuccessful and hardly known in the US, they were highly successful in Canada.
In 2001 he married make-up artist Brandi Glanville and they have two children, Mason, 7, and Jake, 4.
Rimes’ and Cibrian’s marriages ended, reportedly after spending time together on and off the set.
The couple’s wedding took place in Malibu and was held on a private estate. It was a very small and intimate ceremony in front of a reported 40 guests. Rimes wore a Reem Acra gown. They exchanged their own personal vows. They were even able to keep their celebration as a surprise to both the public and their guests. According to People Magazine, the guests who came were led to believe that they were invited to attend the couple’s engagement party. Boy, were they in for a surprise.
The celebration was extended to Saturday as the new Cibrian couple enjoyed brunch with their friends and family. Rimes excitedly stated via her Twitter account, “Eddie and I are overwhelmed by the amount of lovely well wishes. We are blessed and…. I’m Mrs. Cibrian!!!!!”
In one day Rimes went from fiancee to wife and mom as Cibrian’s sons from his previous marriage attended the wedding as well.
