Howie Day to perform free lunch time concert September 16 at Anthology
Anthology and sponsor KPRi are sprucing up lunchtime options for the folks downtown as they will be bringing a free lunchtime show featuring Howie Day this Wednesday, September 16th.
Day is an international recording artist whose biggest hits, “Collide” and “She Says,” have been heard and purchased by millions of music fans. Day has just released his new album “Sound the Alarm.”
What a fabulous idea for lunch. Anthology, located in Little Italy, at 1337 India Street, San Diego, is presenting this free show as a “Little Italy Appreciation Concert.” The show begins at 12:30 p.m., prime time for lunch-goers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m for those who have some flexibility.
Bob Burch, VP/Station Manager at 102.1 KPRi, sponsor of the show, said, “So many of our free shows, the Private Listener Concerts that KPRi presents, are in the evenings. We felt it was time to do a show for the working men and women of San Diego. It’s hard to find a better location than Little Italy.
Putting Howie Day at Anthology will allow people to break from their busy day to enjoy lunch, then get back to work with a pretty good pick-me-up. When you think about it, you can dash out of work, eat at Anthology, or pick another one of Little Italy’s amazing restaurants and make it a fun mid-week afternoon.
We’ve run into so many people who tell us with the economy, they can’t get away in the evenings. Anthology feels the same way. So we put together our resources to bring this first daytime show to the people of Little Italy.”
