Next Childish Gambino Album Will be Donald Glover’s Last

Unfortunately, Childish Gambino is going to be no more. Donald Glover announced that he will be retiring from Childish Gambino, and his next album under this stage name will be his last. Unfortunately, no release date or album title was given, however, we are excited to see what’s next in the cards for Glover.

Ever since Childish Gambino started in the year 2011, Glover has released three albums. Last year, he produced Psych-Rock Experiment Awaken my Love! and it became No. 5 on the Billboard album chart. Currently, he has sold 175,000 copies and that’s just the beginning. Also, he was nominated for a Grammy for Internet, so Glover’s success has skyrocketed ever since the beginning of his career as a musician.

Aside from his musical performances, he has also been a well praised actor and his break-through role was his part on the sitcom on NBC, named Community. Furthermore, he is expected to play Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo Star Wars Spin off movie, which will premiere in May 2018. Additionally, he won best comedy series and actor for Atlanta and was awarded with Golden Globes.

He announced the closing of Childish Gambino in his only set performance of 2017, at the Governors Ball in New York. He closed out the second day of the festival on New York’s Randall’s Island with the crowd favorite most know and love, “Redbone.” He revealed to his fans that the next album will be his last, as Childish Gambino, and said, “see you for the last Gambino album.” Hopefully, this is not the end of his career on camera and as a rapper.
