San Diego Concerts coming in July
Summertime in San Diego means that there will be a lot of good concerts coming to town. There’s nothing better than a summer night spent with friends listening to some good, live music. San Diego has a lot of different music venues to suit all kinds of tastes- we have intimate venues for up and coming artists as well as huge arenas for the big stars. Here’s a list of some concerts to catch in July:
Jul 1: Rebelution and Collie Buddz at the Mattress Firm Amphitheater
There’s something about a good reggae concert in the summer that feels so right. Seeing Rebelution live feels like you’re hanging out with your friends. Eric Rachmany (the band’s singer, guitarist, and lyricist) says that they’re focused on “being present with the music instead of just thinking about the outcome and the limelight. We’re not making music to hit a certain demographic. We’re just making music that we enjoy.”
Jul 14: Dirty Heads and Soja at The Mattress Firm Amphitheater
The Dirty Heads are from Huntington Beach; They have sunny style that’s perfect for a summer concert and a beer, leaning heavily on reggae fused with hip-hop cornerstones and sometimes a more acoustic fare.
Jul 14: Mike Pinto at The Belly Up Tavern
Mike Pinto is based in Ocean Beach, and he has played in over thirty states, doing an average of four shows a week, along with live acoustic performances for various college and reggae on-air radio stations. Pinto says that his shows have a big energy, with the organ and horns blaring at all times. His music blends reggae, ska, dub, and Latin rhythms, while keeping true to his roots with the acoustic guitar.
Jul 19: Hall & Oates and Tears For Fears
Who doesn’t love a good throwback? Come take a trip down memory lane at Valley View Center and sing along to hits like “You Make My Dreams”, “Rich Girl” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”.
Jul 21: Third Eye Blind
Speaking of throwbacks… Keep the 90’s alive with Third Eye Blind at the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre.
Jul 23: Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
If country is more you’re style and you enjoy a good love story, come see Time McGraw and Faith Hill (the real life America’s sweethearts) at Valley View.
