Artist Spotlight: Louis Capaldi

Scottish singer-songwriter Louis Capaldi has gained a massive following in Europe, which has quickly grown to include America. Capaldi first gained widespread attention after the release of his 2017 hit “Bruises”, which quickly surpassed 28 million streams on Spotify shortly after its release.

Capaldi’s music is deeply enriched by his immeasurable power in his voice, coupled with a raspy delivery that is reminiscent of Hozier. Each song he delivers an emotion-filled track filled with an authenticity that will make you double-take at the sheer beauty of it. Despite his incredible talent, Capaldi is a deeply humble artist who is just beginning to take the music world by storm.

The shaggy-haired 21-year old has a small yet growing discography, and he is showing no signs of stopping up. He is no stranger to the stage either, closing out 2018 by performing at the legendary O2 Arena in the UK while on tour supporting none other than Sam Smith. Capaldi continued on with touring, this time alongside Niall Horan and Jillian Michaels, performing in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland. He’s currently finishing the year out with his European headline tour, which has been a resounding success.

Capaldi counts Kendrick Lamar and Lorde among some of his greatest influences, admiring their ability to consistently put out amazing music. Ironically, whether he knows it or not, Capaldi is exemplifying this ability, with each of his tracks he puts out truly showing the care and love he weaves into each.
