Spooooooky Tuuuunnneeeesss – The Best Halloween Songs
In an effort to get myself a little more excited for the upcoming holiday, which at 25, is getting harder, I decided to research the best Halloween songs. Having not heard a lot of these songs in years, I got stuck on a roller coaster of nostalgic awesomeness. It’s been far too long since I’ve heard songs like “Monster Mash” and “Addams Groove,” the theme song by MC Hammer for the Addams Family movies.
Remember the music video for “Nightmare on My Street” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince? Probably not because New Line Cinema sued them for copyright infringement. The Prince of Bel-Air has long since retired his florescent clothes and high tops, but “Nightmare on My Street” will live on in the hearts of trick or treaters for years to come… or at least their parents.
So if your having a Halloween party this year, and your iPod lacks the necessary tunes, here’s a list of the best Halloween-esque songs. Go steal them. *San Diego Entertainer does not condone the unlawful detention of copyrighted material.*
