Learn to Paint at Art on 30th
Sometimes it’s nice to dive into a new hobby. You never know when you’re going to feel inspired, and taking in new experiences can make you feel alive. We all have things that we keep saying we’re going to do, but we never seem to find the time. Or maybe you’re trying to decide on a list of new hobbies you’d like to test out. If you’ve ever been interested in taking a painting class, we know the perfect space to test the waters.
Art on 30th is a nurturing place for artists to flourish. It’s a venue that houses the work spaces of many local artists, studio rentals, and workshops. A variety of art classes are taught here, including Art 101: Getting Started with Art. The space at Art 101 invites creation and inspiration, and it’s a perfect place to host a beginner’s painting class. This class is a new series that introduces students to various types of painting mediums: watercolor, acrylics, oil, and mixed media. If you are brand new to art making and don’t know where to start, this one’s for you!
Each 3-week session has easy instructions, help on which materials and brushes to use, an abundance of personal assistance, and exciting painting projects. The class is taught by Kristen Ide, a graphic designer, artist, and art instructor. She studied Art Education at Middle Tennessee State University, and she says that being a part of bringing others’ ideas to life and giving students confidence to move their art forward is one of her greatest joys. “My biggest intention is to provide my students confidence and tools so they can move their art forward by leaps and bounds. So let’s explore together!”
Using simple techniques, you will leave the class with a small, original painting. All supplies are included—simply show up with yourself and a smile! The class is perfect for someone who’s never picked up a brush, someone who wants to “try before they buy” with art supplies, and anyone in between!
The class meets for 3 weeks on Saturdays from 10am-12pm. Cost is $99 per 3-week session, and all supplies are included. Sign up and learn more about other classes offered at Art on 30th here.
